Hi. I'm hungry.

First, before it gets to be too far in the past, the highlights of my trip:

Things we saw:

The Baltimore Inner Harbor.  Loved it.  I think I might be a harbor person.
The Baltimore aquarium - the jellyfish were my favorite.
The USS Constellation
The Torsk
Bubba Gump Shrimp
The bad side of Washington DC.  Seriously.  So much graffiti.  So many strip clubs!
DC Chinatown, and an Irish pub whose sign was in English and Chinese.  *giggle*
Smithsonian Air and Space Museum.  It was a lot like the Science Center.
Botanical Garden (kinda like the Jewel Box in Forest Park, St. Louis)
The Capitol Building, from outside
Library of Congress - beautiful and ornate artwork all over the ceilings, floors, walls, etc, etc..
Special exhibit featuring the Gibson Girl - loved it.  I always did like the Gibson Girl.
The Supreme Court building - white marble everywhere!  Plus, we kinda got in trouble for having our picnic under the wrong tree out front.  I hear that breaking rules is a national monument family tradition.
National Gallery of Art - so much cool stuff!  But could never find a good souvenir.
The best crab cakes ever.  And I tried a new cider - Angry Orchard.
Natural History Museum - great place to take kids!
The National Archives
Darci Graves - love her!!!
The DC Monuments...but not the Thomas Jefferson Memorial up close, sadly.
Tylar Graves and Addie - yay!  But not Lily.  *sulk*
Fort McHenry
Maggie Moo's
Some bubble tea at the Inner Harbor
Tylar's house.  ^_^  Hi, Addie!!
Paper Moon Cafe.  Very cool.  Kinda creepy.
Savage Mill/Rams Head Tavern - Very Awesome.  One of my favorite parts of the whole trip!  There was an antique store that I took as many pictures as some museums!  And next time I'm going into that bakery.
Johnny Rockets - lotsa pickles on their burgers.
The New Star Trek movie - and my 3D glasses worked almost perfectly when on top of my regular glasses.  Usually I can't see 3D stuff at all.
Rain
Udvar Hazy center (more Air and Space)
Ft. Belvoir, VA, and my awesome Aunt
My newly wedded cousin, Amy and her husband, Seth!
At least 2 Baltimore Orioles (birds, not ball players) and one gold finch
Mosquitos.  So itchy!  :(

Things about Baltimore/DC:

The tap water doesn't taste bad.
Those lane lines on the highways are optional.
Know what it means when you are walking and someone says, "On your left"?  They don't either.  All the walking we did, and I only heard it once.  That one person has restored my faith in humanity.
Car horn use is encouraged.
Reminiscent of Columbia, MO, there are so many trees left in the city that you don't have to look at how built up it is.  I like it.
Fresh seafood is so good.
20 dollars or more to park?  WHAT?!  Apparently everyone but us knew that you always take the subway in DC.  Whoops.
Yingling.  That is how they pronounce a beer that is spelled Yuengling.  Would not have been my first guess.

Ta-Da!!

And as for this week....I'm sick.  I know.  I told you already.  I'm actually hoping to feel better tomorrow.  And I'm still reading Daddy Long Legs.  When I am done, I will start the Terry Pratchett book that Theresa lent me.

What should I bring to the 4th of July?  It's almost the next non-taiko event I've got going.  The true next thing is that I'm going to take the kids to see Peter Pan in Rolla on the 29th.  Ozark Actors' Theater is putting it on.  That's who I performed The Sound of Music with.  Sound fun?  I thought so.

I think the taiko newsletter is finally going out either today or tomorrow.

I'm hungry, but at the same time, I have no appetite.  This being sick thing is a little bit hilarious.  And annoying.  Good thing I'm going to feel better tomorrow.

By the way, I love this song:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=74LXx0wSqMI

Tonight is going to be a rough taiko practice and Grant's away game in O'Fallon at the same time.  Just thinking about it makes me tired.  I really hope I do feel better tomorrow.

Now, I think I will go look for something to eat.  'Cause I'm hungry.

MUAH!
