Valentine Candy

Got computer access at work, but it was a frustrating day, and I don't want to talk about it.

A few Christmases ago, I got a little chocolate covered nutcracker soldier, and was all excited, because I hadn't had chocolate covered marshmallow in a long time. Except....it wasn't marshmallow, it was Snickers. Now, my brain knows that Snickers is better than marshmallow, but I was pitifully disappointed. So much so, in fact, that I insisted that we get something with marshmallow the next time we were at the store. Well, there wasn't anything until Valentines' Day. Hershey's (and a few others) make a chocolate covered marshmallow heart. In celebration, I got one for each of us. It was just as awful as I wanted it to be. I think that was the year before last, and I've got everyone in my little family chocolate covered marshmallow hearts ever since.

I'm a sucker for a running gag.

When I was a kid, we always used to get the Russell Stover chocolate covered nuts on Valentines' Day. I haven't even seen them for sale in years. Where can you get those? Is it just my local store that doesn't carry them?

Lately, I'm on a Rollo kick. What is your chocolate of choice this year?

I was going to take Grant to get a haircut today, but I'm considering putting it off until the weekend. The other day, I trimmed it up out of his eyes, and the urgency has been relieved a little. I think it can wait. Don't you? Plus.....it's cold out there.

I'm not sure what to make the kids for dinner. Maybe more fancy ramen noodles. I guess I didn't tell you, but on Chinese New Year we made ramen noodles, and put hard boiled eggs in them. I was mostly doing it for looks, but it was surprisingly delish. And good comfort food. The kids were crazy about it. Or something frozen. I didn't thaw out the chicken, yet.

I have so many things I want to cook! I want to try the meat buns a dear friend gave me a recipe to (HI, GUYS!!) and I almost have Josh sold on a cauliflower pizza crust experiment, and I want to mix salmon and cream cheese to put on crackers, and, and, and....

Perhaps all this talking about food has made me hungry!

Hope you all are enjoying your Wednesday!
