Hi.
Did you have a good weekend? How was Fathers' Day? I tried to get all healthy on Saturday, but that didn't really work out for me. Before Abbie's game on Friday, we went to Panera Bread (still St. Louis Bread Co in my heart...) for dinner. I had the iced green tea. I am not sure how much actual green tea is involved, but I LOVE that drink. Love it. Wish I had some right now. Abbie's game was great. They played really well, and Abbie even paid attention while fielding. Last game, she was catcher, but I missed it. And then all the parents kept asking me if she was covered in bruises. It would seem she got pummeled pretty seriously! I was pleased and surprised when she wanted to do it again Friday. Sadly, they didn't have enough girls, so she had to play outfield. It was fun, though, even for a sick mommy.
Yesterday was the taiko performance in Columbia. Considering that we had all the new people and that they made up half of the available performers, we did pretty well. I made one minor arm mistake in Ashura, but no other mistakes. Sick or not, I did all the talking, and all 6 workshops, complete with yelling. So...my voice is pretty much gone, today.
By the way, I am not so much happy about this: http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/06/17/19003391-supreme-court-strikes-down-arizona-law-requiring-proof-of-citizenship-to-vote?lite
Having lived very near the southern border in Arizona, I can say - and I am not trying to attack anyone. This is not personal - that there are a LOT of illegal immigrants there. A LOT. I wish they would just become legal ones. The problem, though, that is relevant to this article is the fact that unless they are talking to a police officer they really don't think there is anything wrong with A) being an illegal immigrant and B) taking American privileges, just as if they were entitled. If your sister/grandmother/son/uncle is an illegal immigrant and would never dream of such a thing, I apologize. (P.S. That is illegal. And a crime.) It is what I observed with my own senses having been there myself.
I'm not a mean person. I promise. I like immigrants. Legal ones.
In a moment, we are off to swim lessons. Then a small break. Then music lessons. Then Grant's baseball practice. Then Abbie's softball game. I wonder if she will play catcher.
Hope you are having a good day!
