I guess I jinxed my good health when I noticed how long it had been since I had been sick. Or maybe it's just impossible to go to a bunch of free museums in DC and have two plane rides next to or in front of sniffling people without contracting something. I'm just glad I didn't get the stomach virus that Master Awesome got just after we left.
So, I'm sick.
In other news...I went to Baltimore and Washington DC! I have now seen my own nation's capitol. I mean, I'd already been to Paris, Monte Carlo, Geneva, London and Tokyo. It was a great trip, which I will recap later. The kids had a great time seeing the Grand Canyon! So - all good stuff in regards to our fancy summertime travels.
What do you think we did our fist weekend back? Well, on Saturday, I got up and taught a children's taiko workshop. Then, I co-taught and took pictures at an adult taiko workshop. Then I grabbed the kids and drove to Rolla to the Frisbee family's hog roast. It was so much fun! They sent us home with milk from their very own cow. It was amazing. What a great event.
By the way, the second I got back, I was writing the newsletter and making photo galleries for taiko. But I did get it all done as scheduled. I am amazing. ..Hmm. I wonder why the newsletter hasn't come out yet. ???
This week hasn't let up at all. We have baseball/softball every night this week. Yesterday after music lessons was Grant's practice, tonight is his game (while I am at taiko). Tomorrow is Abbie's practice. Then another game for Grant on Thursday and Abbie's is on Friday. Both of those last two games are out of town. As for me, I am writing a set that we will perform on Sunday in Columbia. We always do the Missouri Scholars' Academy. And I have always signed up for that one. It's always on Fathers' Day and Josh takes the kids out for fancy ice cream while I'm gone.
I'm reading Daddy Long Legs.
Had this at my mom's. Make it today:

I am not much of a fancy telephone person, but I recently got a new app. Many of my friends use the song identifying app called, Shazam, but I wasn't pleased with the reviews. Instead, I got one called iD. I tested it by playing some of my more obscure songs. It knew them. Even the foreign ones. Crazy awesome. I noticed that it didn't know some of the Irish ones, and that had me worried, because the one song I've been wanting to identify forever is Irish. I tried it today.
It. Worked.

Anyway, now you know that we are all alive and well. Next time, I will tell you all about my vacation. ^_^
Have a great week!
